Make and Take – Rain Barrel Workshops
Rain barrels are a great way for homeowners and businesses to capture water from a downspout for lawn and garden use.
This workshop is offered in partnership with Shenandoah County Parks and Recreation. Space is limited.
Cost: $45 per barrel
Registration opens February 5th.

In this workshop you will receive a 50 gallon recycled plastic barrel and a rain barrel kit from Friends of the North Fork that you will use to build your own rain barrel. During the workshop, you will drill holes, install the faucet and complete other tasks to allow a barrel to catch rainwater for use around your house. You will need to drill one hole in your downspout when you get home with the hole saw are provided in your kit.
Note: please determine where you will want to place your rain barrel so you can decide which side of the barrel that you would like to place the faucet. For ages 6 and up. Those age 16 and under need to attend with an adult.
