Join us on Zoom in hearing from Fisheries Biologist, Jason Hallacher, about the state of fish populations in the North Fork of the Shenandoah River based on fish surveys carried out by the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources.

Jason Hallacher is the District Fisheries Biologist for the Department of Wildlife Resources and has worked for DWR for 17 years. He manages the majority of the warm water resources in the Shenandoah Valley including rivers like the South Fork Shenandoah, North Fork Shenandoah, and Main Stem Shenandoah. As well as impoundments like lake Frederick, Lake Laura, Lake Arrowhead, and Lake Shenandoah. He is passionate about outreach and can often be found at events introducing the public to fish from our local resources or on DWR’s social media channels to help educate the public about DWR’s many programs. In his spare time he enjoys playing hockey, beekeeping, and restoring pollinator habitat using prescribed burning. His program will cover recent fish surveys conducted on the North Fork Shenandoah River.
