Conservation Field Day

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to work in conservation? What does a park ranger do? What’s a soil and water conservation district? What’s the difference between the National Forest Service and the Virginia Department of Forestry? What do nonprofits do and how do they fit in? Come to the Conservation Field Day and find out! Representatives from state, and local conservation entities will be there, ready to answer questions and give demonstrations. Take a peek into the life of conservation professionals and learn how you can become involved.

Yes! Bring water and a bagged lunch, and dress appropriately for the weather (we recommend warm jackets and a waterproof layer– you never know when the weather will change!). There is no cell service but you are welcome to take pictures.

Does it cost anything?

No! Thanks to the generosity of our partners, this event is free to all 4-H clubs, FFA students and teachers/leaders.
