John Eckman to leave Friends

December 2018 Message from John Eckman, Executive Director. 

The next time you see me near Woodstock, I expect to be in a canoe, relaxing.

At the end of 2018 I’m stepping aside as Executive Director at Friends of the North Fork. I’ll still be in the Valley and working on various conservation and restoration efforts. I hope to run into many of you in the years ahead.

Friends is going strong with new programs, new faces, a great staff, and all your support and energy. Working to help conserve and improve the North Fork watershed has been a tremendous privilege. I leave knowing that Friends has some wonderful future options.

Thanks for caring about the river and helping inspire my work and that of many others.
