Participate in IWL’s Salt Watch Community Science Campaign this Winter!

Interested in getting involved in a simple and important community science project helpful to our waterways?!

Join the North Fork of the Shenandoah Winter Salt Watch Team to track how much salt is entering our waterways throughout the winter due to its use in de-icing! The kits are super simple and only require a few minutes’ time to dip a strip in water and to send proof and a location of where you sampled in to Water Reporter to be put on a map! Email us with your intent to collect data throughout the winter so we can arrange a time for you to pick up Salt Watch strips from our office in Woodstock, VA. Learn more about Winter Salt Watch through Isaak Walton League here! Please email julia.sargent@fnfsr.org with any questions.
