FSBSP Walker’s Club Inaugural Walk

The Seven Bends Walkers’ Club held it’s inaugural walk on Saturday, July 23.  Three groups walked between 2 and 4 miles, beginning on

Everyone stopped at the first fishing pad along the Gokotta as we applauded John and Cecelia Latham, sitting on the bench they donated to the park.

Along the way, we all enjoyed the views and saw Jewel Weed and Queen Anne’s Lace in bloom, Paw Paw fruit hanging proud from the trees, and the wild berries in their first stages of development.

Walks at the park will continue over the next several weeks, walking the Gokotta Trail to it’s end and back – all in the shade in the morning.  As walkers get more used to walking this distance, Eagles Edge Trail will be added for a 2-mile hike.  Susan Collins has set Monday dates on which she will be at the Lupton picnic shelter to lead walks – July 25, August 1, 15, 22, 29, Sept 12, 19, and 26.   7:50am-8:50am!

See you there!!!
