2019 Summer Camps

Shenandoah River Players Summer Camp

When: June 17-21, 2019; Time: 9:00 am-3:00 pm (Field trip day(s) may be longer)

Where: U.S. Forest Service Office in Edinburg, VA Cost: $55.00 per student

This environmental education day camp is offered by Friends of the North Fork of the Shenandoah River for rising 1st-3rd graders (approximate ages 5-9). It is designed to instill a love of nature and outdoor play while teaching stewardship and caring for the environment. Students will learn about animals, trees, soil, plants, and water. They will learn and play in outdoor classrooms, visit the North Fork of the Shenandoah River and Stony Creek, and spend a day at Passage Creek on the Lion’s Tale Trail in the National Forest.

Shenandoah River Rangers Summer Camp

When: June 24-28, 2019; Time: 9:00 am-3:00 pm (Field trip day(s) may be longer)

Where: U.S. Forest Service Office in Edinburg, VA Cost: $55.00 per student

This environmental education day camp is offered by Friends of the North Fork of the Shenandoah River for rising 4th -8th graders (approximate ages 10-13). Students will become river scientists, visiting the North Fork of the Shenandoah River or Stony Creek every day. They will fish, kayak, meet animals with wildlife and fisheries biologists, collect river bugs, and other fun activities.
