Second Annual First Day Hike

Date:
Time:
Location: Seven Bends State Park
Add to Calendar:

To keep in tradition with VA state park traditions in years past, we are encouraging people to come out to Seven Bends State Park on January 1st to celebrate the new year immersed in nature! Volunteers with Friends of Seven Bends State Park and Friends of the North Fork of the Shenandoah River will be stationed at tables on the Hollingsworth and Lupton entrances to the park from 7am to 3pm with resources for you to take yourself (and those with you) on a self-guided hike around the park. Additionally, there will be nature journaling and geocaching materials provided by the park available (downloadable below); however, feel free to print these off ahead of time to take with you if you like.

Parking fees are waived for the day, and maps will be available at the park kiosks at both entrances to the park.

While COVID precautions have led us to adjust the structure of this hike from guided and done in together to instead be self-guided, we look forward to connecting and hiking with you into the new year in years to come!
