Seven Bends Riparian Buffer Project: Invasive Species Removal

In partnership with the Virginia Department of Forestry, the Northern Shenandoah Valley Master Gardener Association, and Seven Bends State Park, Friends of Seven Bends State Park is expanding and improving a riparian buffer on the Lupton side of the park (1191 Lupton Rd). On Friday, November 5, help get ready for the planting day (scheduled for Saturday, December 4) by clearing invasive species from the planting area.

Meet at the lower parking lot on the Lupton side at 9am. Please dress for the weather, and for navigating in heavy brush. While gloves and tools will be provided, feel free to bring your own gloves and tools (loppers, clippers) if you have them.

Volunteers must be registered as Virginia State Park volunteers prior to participating in this event. If you have not registered with the new online system, please do so at https://www.dcr.virginia.gov/state-parks/volunteer-form.
